Released in 2000 by Virgin Schallplatten GmbH.
When it released, The Screen Behind The Mirror was by many perceived as the most mature album released by Enigma. It built on the more modern theme that was established by Le Roi Est Mort, Vive Le Roi around 4 years earlier. This 4th installment quite extensively featured samples from Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, but the album also sported other tried and tested samples and sounds as well. As with the third album, Cretu had created a very smooth and intelligent music experience that was clearly as enigmatic as his previous releases. Amongst some of the newer faces to notably help out on The Screen Behind The Mirror was Jens Gad. Cretu and Gad had been doing quite a bit of music together before the release of the fourth Enigma installment, including an album called The Energy of Sound released under the name Trance Atlantic Air Waves. Their collaboration on the Enigma project should prove to be a good idea, and it made for yet another successful album. Tracklist - Click for Lyrics
