« Albums

Moon, Light & Flowers was the first solo album by Michael Cretu. The prior year he had released two singles, namely Shadows Over My Head and Wild River. At this point he was in his early 20s and had just earned a degree in music. Cretu was considered musically gifted and had studied to become a concert pianist as well as conductor, but ultimately he decided to go in a different direction.

The album was fairly well received and saw release in various countries. Stylistically a track like Moonlight Flower opens with something leading the thoughts towards Vangelis, then turns into a calm and peaceful song. Shadows Over My Head has some background sounds hinting slightly at Enigma already here in 1978, but the song itself is more straight-forward with some other electronic influences.
